A Look into the Mechanical Function of Quartz Watches
Quartz watches have earned immense popularity since its unveil in the watchmaking industry. The pendulum clocks were used widely before the introduction of quartz watches, however, pendulum clocks did not keep time accurately. Therefore, quartz watches were debuted to help people keep record of time.
Quartz watches are manufactured based on the main principles that the earlier watches made. In the past, to enable the watches to oscillate at a fixed frequency pendulums were infused in the manufacturing process. It is of vital importance to make sure that the oscillations regulate and keep a fixed time. Quartz watches are no exception. To keep the high performance of the watch, oscillation was highly demanded.
Quartz watches contain a small battery that is of great help in exerting mechanical pressure on the precise quartz crystal. Then an electrical charge is generated, and it will bring about drastic vibrations. The vibrations would then be converted into energy that are used for the functioning of the watch.
The quartz crystals come in various forms including a regularized shape, size and form. The cutting is of great help in making the crystal vibrate quite a few thousand times per second. The high quality of the quartz crystals accounts for the reason why the watches are adept at keeping accurate time.
The quartz crystal is perfectly created to reach a natural oscillation of 32,000Hz which is converted into pulses later. These pulses are sent to a motor or the quartz watch display depending on different disigns. Quartz watches come with high performance, and they are much friendlier to your pockets, thus, there are not any high replacement and maintenance fees for your quartz watch.
