Your new meerschaum pipe is a piece of art and a investment in beauty and joy. Since you put so much of your money and feelings in your meerschaum pipe, you actually want to deal with it properly and ensure it is a source of pleasure that lasts you for many years in the future.
If not taken care of correctly, you meerschaum pipe won't endure for you for as long as you desire. Worse, if not cared for correctly or treated roughly, it could fracture and should be replaced.
